Conscious Action hosted Jyoti Morningstar (founder of WE-AR) and Karishma Kelsey (Karishma Design), two inspiring and empowered speakers who are both using their journey in the fashion industry as a vehicle for change.
Jyoti and Karishma gave us an in-depth insight into where our clothes come from - as in, the true source! We discussed different areas of the supply chain, our societies appetite for fast fashion and consumerism and the "true cost of a bargain". Both women shared their knowledge of the environmental and social impacts of the industry, based on their extensive research and experience.
Lastly - we learnt many ways that we, as individuals, can make a difference.
Fashion Revolution is a global movement calling for greater transparency, sustainability and ethics in the fashion industry and we are so grateful that the organisation is not only creating awareness, but also for supplying organisations like ours with resources and collateral to market the event.
